Here's a great tip if you have an old shed like mine and it needs a little revamp! Give it a rustic looking thatched roof and it will get a whole new lease of life and enhance the look of your garden to boot! How's it done? Well just get down to your DIY store or even better a discount shop and buy some Heather or Brushwood screening on a roll, one small roll does half a roof on an average size shed. Unroll and position it to best effect and secure it using a heavy duty staple gun (extra long staples). The beauty of this thatch on a roll is that it can be bent and shaped which gives great flexibility of use. I also use it to cover unsightly fencing as an alternative to painting, it then provides a great backdrop for your planting and creates a very naturalistic effect anywhere you want to put it.
